Manager Health & Development Services

 

Warren Shire Council is seeking an accomplished professional to lead our Health and Development Services Department. 

Warren is an idyllic rural town located on the Oxley Highway and 110km from Dubbo – providing an authentic rural lifestyle with the conveniences of the city well within reach.

Reporting to the General Manager as part of the Senior Management Team, you will oversee a diverse portfolio including building and regulatory services, waste management, property and swimming pool management, community services, planning, development and key customer service functions. This is a role for someone who thrives on meaningful impact, cross-departmental collaboration and long-term vision.

You will bring:

  • Diploma in Building Surveying (or equivalent) with relevant experience
  • A2 Building & Development Certifier accreditation
  • Demonstrated senior management experience with strong leadership capability
  • Expert knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, NSW EP&A Act, NSW Local Government Act, and local government budgeting
  • Understanding of community services and development practices
  • High-level communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong project and program management experience across health, development, building and waste areas
  • Proven ability to write policy and procedures aligned to local government requirements
  • Capacity to interpret the political, social and economic context and develop effective strategies
  • WHS Construction Induction (White Card) and Class C Driver Licence
